The "Shahr-i Sokhta online" project: an outline
The Shahr-i Sokhta online project aims at digitizing and making available on the web all the amount of data gathered by the Italian Archaeological Mission in Iran during the on field campaigs and the following post-processing activity.
Obviously, this is a complex target, organized in different steps (all the data, coming from a thirty years' process of analysis and study, must be completed and tested before being uploaded on the net):
- the list of the currently available online archives is visible in the mainmenu (on the left). The archives can be browsed through a dedicated online database (everyone can obtain username and password in read-only mode, following a simple procedure). Users can reach the archives even clicking the "database" button on the topmenu (SIS is the acronym for Shahr-i Sokhta).
A poster section is also available (label "Posters" in the mainmenu on the left), containing deep information on specific research fields of the Shahr-i Sokhta project.
